What a full replacement actually includes
- Tear off to the deck: every layer comes off. On older Wyandotte County homes that can mean two or three layers of shingles, sometimes over the original wood shake. Laying new shingles over old ones hides rot and voids most shingle warranties.
- Deck inspection and repair: with the roof open we can finally see the decking. Soft or delaminated sheets get replaced before anything goes back down.
